Historical Curiosities

The dolphin on which the left leg of the goddess rests and the three cupids help to mythologically place the subject of the sculpture, which can undoubtedly be recognized as Aphrodite.

The Greeks associated the name of Aphrodite with the sea foam (afròs), from which they believed she was born; her cult spread in the West, first in Erice in Sicily and then in Rome, the goddess was honored with the name of Venus from the Latin Venus, which means beauty.

Maintenance

To keep your bronze sculpture always shining, clean it regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals that could damage the finish. Use only wax if necessary to restore shine.
