Descrizione

The Basilica of Santa Chiara is one of the most famous churches in Naples. To make this place even more surprising is the cloister with its beautiful majolica tiles, the result of skill and of the quality of Neapolitan craftsmanship. They were made by the “riggiori” Donato and Giuseppe Massa based on a design by Domenico Antonio Vaccaro who in 1739 planned the renovation of the entire complex Angevin monastic.

Our panel, inspired by the decorations of the famous Neapolitan cloister, reproduces the marine, rural and mountain landscapes, as well as scenes of life and celebration, depicted on the backs of the benches of the Cloister of Santa Chiara.
