Descrizione

The Basilicaof Santa Chiarais one of the most famous churches in Naples. To make this place even more surprising is the cloister with its beautiful majolica tiles, the result of skill and of the quality of Neapolitan craftsmanship.

This panel is decorated with reproductions of seascapes, countryside and mountains, as well as scenes of life and celebration, depicted on the backs of the benches of the Cloister of Santa Chiara.
The majolica tiles in the cloister were made by the "riggiori" Donato and Giuseppe Massa based on a design by Domenico Antonio Vaccaro who in 1739  designed the renovation of the entire Angevin monastic complex.
