Historical Curiosities

The symbolic meaning of this object is vast and changes according to different historical eras.

In ancient Greece and Rome they were used not only as jewelry, but also as amulets and seals. During the Roman Empire, cameos were particularly appreciated by noble families and were often made of precious materials such as onyx or agate. Each cameo told a story: the carved figures, which often depicted deities, mythological heroes or important scenes, symbolized power, protection or beauty. However, they were also used to engrave family portraits.

In the Renaissance, cameos made a comeback, with jewelers using advanced techniques to create unique, detailed pieces.

Today, wearing a cameo ring means carrying with you a piece of ancient history and art.
