The Thracian (lat.Thrax) gladiator nhe' ancient Rome, it was a athlete who fought without protection armed only with a short sword and defensive head armor. L'elmo it had the characteristic shape that saw the hemispherical cap with a wide brim that also protected the face and a griffin on top, a mythological animal with the head of a bird of prey and the body of a lion. The most famous Thracian gladiator is Spartacus who led the Third Servile War.
