The Statue of Hermes at Rest is a faithful 3D reproduction inspired by the famous sculpture found in Herculaneum in 1758. The original work dates back to strong>Roman era, and is today preserved in the Archaeological Museum of Naples.

The work depicts the young godHermes, the messenger of the gods, resting on a rock.

Hermes it's a part of Greek mythology, in Rome he is known as MercuryFor the ancient Greeks, the spirit of passage and crossing was embodied in Hermes: they believed that the god manifested himself in any type of exchange, transfer, overcoming, transit, from a place, or from a state, to the other.

This explains his being connected with the changes in man's fate and why he was one of the few to have permission to frequent the Realm of the Underworld.

To preserve the Statue of Hermes at Rest it is important to clean it regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust without scratching the surface. Avoid using harsh chemicals that could damage the material. Furthermore, it is advisable to keep it away from direct heat sources and prolonged sunlight, as exposure could cause deformation or alter the colors. Store in a dry place to prevent wear over time.
