The terracotta plate of the goddess Fortuna is a bas-relief inspired by the decoration of a lamp of Roman art of the 1st century AD, now preserved in the Archaeological Museum of Este.   

It represents Fortuna, the Roman goddess of fortune, destiny and prosperity. She is depicted with wings, symbolizing the ability to change destiny quickly, and with the cornucopia (horn of abundance), emblem of fertility.  

This reproduction is carefully crafted in terracotta, a material that recalls antiquity and artisan tradition.

Historical Curiosities

In the cult of Fortuna (or Tyche) the motifs of destiny and fertility come together, she was in fact the goddess of chance and fate, and was venerated to guarantee protection and prosperity .

His famous sanctuary was located in Preneste (now Palestrina), the entire population of Lazio flocked here to ask for answers on the future.

The goddess was considered responsible for the destiny of the Romans, land representations of it were therefore often present in homes to attract good luck and protect from adverse fate.

Maintenance

To keep the terracotta plate in perfect condition, you should clean it with a soft, dry cloth and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
