Diver Keychain

Keychain Diver Poor. Inspired by the fresco of 480 - 470 BC. Paestum, Archaeological Museum. 

The image of the diver constitutes the internal decoration of the covering slab of a tomb found nearby Poor. The man in the act of diving into a stream probably symbolizes the passage from life to death. The other four internal walls are decorated with scenes of buffet. It is one of the most significant and best preserved examples of tomb pictorial decoration, very widespread insouthern Italy ed in Etruria.

The compositional scheme is made up of figurative friezes arranged between two ornamental bands and subjects depicting games, battles, dances, funeral rites, banquets. Paestum was founded by Greek colonists in 7th century BC.; it had a very long period of prosperity even during the Roman Empire. It was abandoned in the5th century AD
