The House of the Faun The bronze statue found after the excavations of Pompeii, depicting a faun, is named after this. He was the god of the countryside and pastures and spent his time playing the flute and courting the nymphs. Often depicted with goat legs and a beard. On the day it was celebrated ( Faunàlia) dances and processions took place.
