Descrizione

This 3D cast of a woman lying down is a reproduction of a female figure found in Pompeii, immortalized by the volcanic ashes of the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. This sculpture is made of PLA and 3D printed with additive technique.

The cast of the "pregnant woman", so known for her swollen abdomen, was subsequently subjected to a CT scan which revealed that it was not a pregnant woman, but rather a swelling of the woman's clothes during the eruption.
