Description

Marcus Aurelius Severus Antoninus Pius Augustus known as Caracalla, from the Severan dynasty. One of his most important measures was the Constitutio antoniniana in 212 AD, also called Edict of Caracalla, in which Roman citizenship was granted to all the inhabitants of the Roman Empire, so as to compensate for the financial collapse of the coffers and extend the tax base to everyone. In the same year work began on the famous Caracalla's thermal baths, the most imposing ever built in the empire until the construction of the Baths of Diocletian.
