Historical Curiosities
Capodimonte Porcelain is an Italian excellence that boasts over 250 years of history. Founded in 1743 by King Charles of Bourbon and Queen Maria Amalia of Saxony, the Royal Factory of Capodimonte had the aim of competing with Meissen and Sèvres porcelain.
This porcelain is famous for its soft body and its unmistakable milky white colour. Unlike other porcelains, that of Capodimonte does not use kaolin, but a unique clay mixture which gives the creations an extraordinary refinement. Among the most famous works there are flowers, mythological figures and pastoral scenes, all symbols of Italian culture and art.
Each piece bears the "crowned N" mark, a symbol of authenticity and prestige that represents the link between art, tradition and innovation.
