クロタリアの二連ペンダントイヤリングは、古代にインスパイアされた洗練されたジュエリーの例です。これは、ポンペイの発掘現場、オプロンティスとスタビアの別荘で発見され、ナポリ考古学博物館に所蔵されているイヤリングの925シルバーに18Kゴールドメッキを施したレプリカです。
繊細な球体が揺れるペンダントデザインが特徴のこれらのイヤリングは、ローマ貴婦人に典型的なイヤリングの一種である「クロタリア」（ギリシャ語の「krotalon」、鈴の音を意味する）スタイルを再現しています。球体はわずかに揺れるように配置されており、動くたびに軽やかな音を奏で、ポンペイの古代の魅力を呼び起こします。
クロタリアイヤリングは、帝政時代のローマのエリート女性、特にマトロンや貴婦人の間で非常に人気がありました。これらのジュエリーは真珠、金、宝石で作られ、ポンペイやエルコラーノの発掘で発見され、ヴェスヴィオ火山の灰の下で完璧に保存されていました。また、権力と社会的地位を象徴し、重要な儀式や宴会で身に着けられていました。

We watched Pompeii the new dig and my wife June was fascinated at the discovery of the crotalia gold pearl earrings. To be able to purchase them direct from the museum for shipment to the UK was amazing. We were notified of the progress of our order at every stage. I first bought these earrings when I visited Pompeii in 2022. Somehow, I lost them and it was horrible! They're not only pretty and go with pretty much everything (they're good quality and look right for special occasions or every day), but they have the interesting talking point of a connection to history. I was thrilled to be able to rebuy them over the net. They arrived really quickly and were safely packaged. I'm very impressed!
