The Tomb of the Diver is an artifact of the funerary art of the Magna Greece of significant historical-artistic value, the only testimony of painting Greek figurative and not vascular. The walls of the building and the cover plate itself are entirely plastered and decorated with wall painting of a figurative subject, made with the fresco technique. The image of the diver constitutes the internal decoration of the cover slab of a tomb found near Paestum . Man in the act of diving into a stream probably symbolizes the passage from life to death.
