Luciano De Crescenzo (Naples, August 18, 1928 - Rome, July 18, 2019) was an Italian writer, director, actor and tv host. Before devoting himself to fiction, non-fiction and entertainment, he used to work as an engineer. Born in Naples in the Santa Lucia district, after graduating in Engineering, he worked for twenty years at IBM Italy, in Rome office, where he held the position of a manager. In 1977 he published his first book "Thus spoke Bellavista"(Mondadori) an editorial success that prompted him to quit his job for IBM to devote himself full time to writing. Since then he has published more than 40 books with Mondadori, translated into 21 languages, and has sold about 20 million copies in 25 countries around the world.
Besides books and films Luciano De Crescenzo left numerous illustrations, simple, ironic, with delicate jokes that reflect the mind of a Neapolitan.
