Classic Enamel Ring from Herculaneum, replica in Sterling Silver 18K gold plated of the original ring, the 1st cen. BC. Inv. P 4884, the Superintendence of Pompeii, Archeological Museum, Naples.
The discovery of the bodies of more than 300 inhabitants of ancient Herculaneum on the city beach allowed to discover an exceptional collection of jewelry, thouroughly kept in bags or boxes stored to save in the moment of escape from the city.
Some long gold necklaces, gold bracelets and armilles with snake heads, cameos, rings with onyx gems, agate and carnelian engraved with images of divinities, mythological characters and symbolic objects were the most precious objects of the family heritage.
