Pendant Diver from Paestum 7 cm replica in Sterling Silver, inspired by the Greek fresco 480 - 470 BC Paestum, Archaeological Museum.

The image of the diver constitutes the internal decoration of the roofing slab of a tomb found near Paestum. The man in the act of diving into a stream probably symbolizes the transition from life to death. The other four internal walls are decorated with a banquet. It is one of the most significant and best preserved examples of tomb painting decoration, widespread in southern Italy and Etruria. The compositional scheme consisting of figured friezes arranged between two ornamental bands and subjects depicting games, battles, dances, funeral rites, banquets.

Paestum was founded by the Greek colonists in the 7th century BC; it had a very long period of prosperity even during the Roman Empire. It was abandoned in the 5th century AD.
