Our Venus Aphrodite Callipygia is a reproduction in Carrara marble of a copy Roman of the original bronze Greek from the 2nd century BC, now preserved in the Archaeological Museum of Naples.
Venus Aphrodite Callipygia, is the goddess of beauty, and in this sculpture, it shows her perfect and refined forms. It represents the canons and ideal beauty of ancient Greece, and it is considered by art scholars the highest expression of sensuality sculpted in marble.
The term "Callipygia" derives from the Greek word "Kallipygos", meaning “with beautiful buttocks.”
In this work, we notice the goddess's body leaning to the left, with her gaze directed precisely towards her buttocks; her hair is gathered with a single lock falling and resting on her neck. With her arm, she lifts the dress, in the act of revealing her hips to show off her backside.

Legend tells of a competition between two sisters from Syracuse to determine who had the most beautiful buttocks. Once the winner was declared, the judge fell in love with her, and from this myth arose the cult of Venus Callipygia.
