This Sculpture of the Nile God is a faithful reproduction of the ancient statue depicting the divinity of the Nile River, venerated for its crucial role in the fertility and abundance of Ancient Egypt. Made of white marble, this sculpture shows the reclining God, surrounded by symbols that recall prosperity, such as the cornucopia.
The work is inspired by the 1st-2nd century masterpiece, now exhibited in the Braccio Nuovo of the Vatican Museums, in Rome. It represents a perfect fusion between classical art and marble details, ideal for enriching any environment with a touch of history.
The Nile God was one of the most important deities in Ancient Egypt, representing the personification of the Nile River, source of life and fertility for the Egyptian people. The river was revered for its cyclical floods, which fertilized the land, ensuring abundant crops. The deity is often depicted as a reclining man, surrounded by children representing the main tributaries of the river.
Marble is a resistant but delicate material. Clean it with a soft cloth and warm water, avoiding aggressive chemical detergents that could damage the surface. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight to prevent the natural yellowing of the marble.

Lovely piece only issue was confusion over delivery timescale. However have made fuether purchase aa the pieces are quality.
